About Us

Swallowfields is a small, specialist nursery set in the heart of the North Downs of Kent. We grow a range of cottage garden favourites alongside many unusual herbaceous perennials. We specialise in auriculas which we display in traditional auricula theatres during April and May. Our auricula collection is ever expanding with more varieties available year on year. Alongside auriculas we also enjoy growing a wide selection of hardy salvias.

Where to find us

Swallowfields Nursery is only open to customers by appointment. Do call us before travelling to book an appointment. You can also find us at a variety of plant fairs across the southeast. Please see our website for details of these.

Garden-Gate Stall

During the spring and summer months we have a selection of plants available for more local customers at our “Garden-Gate Stall.” An ideal chance to find some unusual plants to inject some welcome colour and interest to your borders.

NGS Open Days

For a chance to browse the nursery and to see our plants growing within our garden at Oak Cottage do come along to one of our National Garden Scheme open days. These have proved very popular with many return visitors keen to have the chance to buy plants directly from the nursery and to enjoy a cream tea in the garden!
